Afternoon & Weekend Recreation
You may be asking, “What’s next?”
Our high school transition program offers a variety of choices for students who want to sample adult services in the community.
Afternoon & Weekend Programs
We offer multiple social and recreational programs for students in local high school transition programs. This is an exciting opportunity for high school students to have fun and experience what the “adult service world” has to offer. Our staff is creative, friendly and experienced. Students can join the programs at any time, as we have open enrollment throughout the year. Current programs include:
- Cooking – Participants learn basic kitchen skills and prepare a meal to enjoy together in a fun, social setting.
- Social Activities & Outings – Participants enjoy a variety of social activities, such as going to the movies, attending community events and playing board games in a fun group setting.
- Music – Participants engage in singing, dancing and music-making with our talented musical staff who accompanies them on piano and guitar.
- Arts & Crafts – Participants create varied art projects from painting to sculpture to sewing with colorful products they can take home to share.
Students can join our programs at any time by contacting our Intake Coordinator. Enrollment for Afternoon & Weekend Programs is on-going and fee-based. Programs take place at our main location in Countryside.
What Sets Us Apart?
We open our doors to students while they are still in high school so they can get a sense of what adult services are provided in their community for after graduation.
