Developmental Therapy

Developmental Therapists assess children’s global development, social interaction, behavior, family relationships and home environment. The goal of developmental therapy is to facilitate cognitive, social-emotional and behavioral development and healthy family interactions.

Developmental Therapy services may help children improve:

  • Sensory Organization – the response to sensory stimuli, such as sights, sounds, touch, etc.
  • Sensory Regulation – sleep cycle, attention, regulation of mood and consol ability
  • Cognitive Development – mental processes related to thinking, reasoning and remembering
  • Language Development – understanding, expressing and exchanging information
  • Gross Motor Development – body movement and balance
  • Fine Motor Development – deliberate and controlled movements
  • Social-Emotional Development – emotional expression, self-esteem, relationships with others, learning rules
  • Self-Help Development –feeding, dressing, grooming, toileting and sleeping
  • Achievement of Developmental Milestones
