HELPING HAND SCHOOL OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST - F.T. - PEDIATRIC OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST - Full-Time Position open to work with High School Students in a Model Best-Practice, Therapeutic Day School for Children with autism. Terrific Opportunity to join a creative, innovative interdisciplinary TEAM! We are looking for an energetic individual who enjoys variety and works well independently and with a team and who has experience with group therapy, and individual therapy. Experience working with children with autism preferred. Must have a valid Illinois Occupational Therapy license or be eligible to apply for one.
INSTRUCTIONAL TEACHING ASSISTANT - F.T. - Full time 35 Hours per week, Monday-Friday, with benefits. The Helping Hand Center is currently seeking energetic, outgoing individuals to fill several openeings for full time Instructional Teaching Assistants in our year-round school for children with autism. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree, Previous experience working with children with disabilities. Will consider those with Para-Professional Certification.
CLINICAL
REGISTERED NURSE (RN) - F.T. - Helping Hand Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide training and support in our Community Integrated Living Arrangement (CILA) program. Job responsibilities include coordinating medical clinics, working directly with physicians and specialists, monitoring medications and labs, compliance with Rule 116 regulations, and teaching medication administration classes under the direction of the Supervisor of Nursing Services. Additionally, the RN will act as a consultant to staff on medical issues as assigned and monitor and update medical records of the agency consumer files. This position is required to be on a rotation for on-call time. Requirements: RN License for a minimum of two years. Excellent organizational and communication skills required. Nurse Trainer Certification from the Department of Human Services, knowledge of regulations in Rule 116, and experience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred.

DEVELOPMENTAL TRAINER - F.T./P.T. - Helping Hand Center is looking for a full-time and part-time Developmental Trainer to provide daily living skills, vocational training and recreational support services for adults with developmental disabilities in a day program located in Countryside, IL. The qualified candidate will be energetic, creative, and possess excellent communication skills. Requirements: Must be female. Experience working with adults with disabilities, a High School diploma or GED, must be 23 years of age and possess a valid D.L. with an acceptable driving record for Pace driver certification. Previous DSP preferred but will train.
RECREATION THERAPIST - F.T. - The Helping Hand Center is seeking a full-time Recreation Therapist to provide support, training and service coordination for adults with developmental disabilities in a day program in Countryside, IL. The Recreation Therapist is responsible for organizing and conducting recreational programs with the goal of group interaction, community inclusion, increasing physical endurance, providing support, encouraging independence, and increasing self-confidence. This position is also responsible for training staff in conducting recreational activities, developing an annual and monthly budget for programming, and transporting clients in agency vehicles in the community. Requirements: Certified Recreation Therapist (CRT) or eligible for certification; must be at least 23 years of age and possess a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record for Pace driver certification; prior experience working with adults with disabilities; outgoing personality with good oral and written communication skills; knowledge of Microsoft programs
RESIDENTIAL
DIRECT SUPPORT PROVIDER (DSP - RESIDENTIAL) - F.T./P.T. - Seeking Direct Support Providers (DSP) to provide life skills training for adults with developmental disabilities living in the community. PT and FT openings: evening, overnight and weekend hours. This is a great opportunity for new graduates to gain experience in the social service field.
