TEAM LEADER - F.T. - This position is responsible for the safe and timely transport of clients to various scheduled/unscheduled medical appointments within the community as well as the maintenance of all associated paperwork for each client served. Provides support to nursing staff during all in-house medical clinics and consistently delivers the timely and accurate communication of information to individuals across a wide variety of disciplines. Provides supervision of staff in the absence of and along side of program supervisor. Responsible for required grocery and household shopping; petty cash funds; assisting residents with banking and budgeting; maintaining monthly recreation calendar; developing monthly menus; and scheduling staff to meet programming needs. Must have prior experience working with persons with developmental disabilities in a residential setting; previous DSP preferred. Must be at least 23 years of age and possess a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record for Pace driver certification.
BOARD CERTIFIED BEHAVIOR ANALYST - F.T. - Helping Hand Center is seeking a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to manage a caseload of adult clients with developmental disabilities. The Behavior Analyst conducts functional and preference assessments; writes Individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP); trains staff to implement Behavior Intervention Plans; collects and analyzes data on an ongoing basis; creates monthly, quarterly and annual reports depicting client progress. Job Requirements: Masters Degree is required; Must be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or eligible for certification within 6 months of hire. CASE MANAGER - QIDP - F.T. - The Helping Hand Center is seeking a Case Manager to provide individualized service to persons with disabilities in day/residential programs. Provide training and support through individualized plans in the areas of activities of daily living, community integration, and leisure skills. Lay a foundation for support of personal growth based on Helping Hands standard of performance principle that each individual can grow in one or more personal dimensions, i.e. physical, mental, or emotional and that he/she has abilities that can be maximized. Coordinate, monitor, and advocate with and for the individual being served or supported, in all areas related to the planning, developing, reviewing, and evaluating of outcome plans. Requirements: Must have a Bachelors Degree in social services or related field; QIDP certification preferred; previous experience working with adults with developmental disabilities; a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
CLASSROOM COORDINATOR - F.T. - CLASSROOM COORDINATOR - F.T. - The Helping Hand Center School for Children with Autism is seeking an energetic Classroom Coordinator to provide services to staff and supervise classroom Special Education Teachers. Job responsibilities include coordinating and monitoring all procedures and documentation across classrooms for consistency and completeness, assisting the Director of the School in interviewing/hiring/termination of School Staff; provide updates to the Director on a regular basis, and to maintain open and effective communication with the Director; provide and/or make recommendations for staff trainings related to classroom procedures, documentation, and/or student progress as needed; Requirements: Must have a Master’s Degree in a relevant Education or Social Services field; Type 75 Certification through ISBE (Administration); classroom experience required; a working understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis and Sensory Integration Theory; experience with autism spectrum disorders in children ages 3-21 years old. Director and oversight of the Nursing Department to ensure that agency & personalized nursing services are developed and implemented that maintain our client’s safety and health, and focus on each individual client’s needs. As part of the Leadership team, the focus of this position is to hire, train, and develop nursing staff of the highest integrity, and to promote a positive work environment.
EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES QUALIFICATIONS:
• 3-5 year experience as DON/Registered Nurse in working with the developmentally disabled preferred.
• Willingness to be on call and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to effectively collaborate & communicate with outside health care professionals.
• Ability to effectively train and supervise staff.
• Ability to make effective decisions and handle emergencies.
• Verification of current driver’s license, good driving record, insurance, and reliable transportation.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Ability to respond to emergencies within twenty minutes when on pager duty.

REGISTERED NURSE (RN) - F.T. - Helping Hand Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide training and support in our Community Integrated Living Arrangement (CILA) program. Job responsibilities include coordinating medical clinics, working directly with physicians and specialists, monitoring medications and labs, compliance with Rule 116 regulations, and teaching medication administration classes under the direction of the Supervisor of Nursing Services. Additionally, the RN will act as a consultant to staff on medical issues as assigned and monitor and update medical records of the agency consumer files. This position is required to be on a rotation for on-call time. Requirements: RN License for a minimum of two years. Excellent organizational and communication skills required. Nurse Trainer Certification from the Department of Human Services, knowledge of regulations in Rule 116, and experience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred.
COMMUNITY RELATIONS SPECIALIST - F.T. - Helping Hand Center is seeking a Community Relations Specialist skilled at cultivating business relationships with community employers to promote the hiring of people with disabilities. This program is licensed by the Illinois Department of Human Services and provides supervision on a full-time basis.
Under the direction of the program supervisor and in accordance with state agency policies and procedures, the Community Relations Specialist is responsible for the support, training and services coordination of the individuals served.
Job responsibilities include: Providing for the safety and security of individuals along with Helping Hand property, participating as a member of an interdisciplinary team and attending all team meetings/staffings, maintaining accurate documentation of all client contact, developing new relationships and maintaining existing relationships with local businesses, and identifying appropriate accommodations and compensatory strategies at each employment site. Must provide case management services for at least five (5) clients and maintain a job development caseload of at least fifteen (15) job development clients.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree plus one or more years’ experience in working with adults with disabilities in community employment. Must possess a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and proof of current vehicle insurance.

MAINTENANCE GENERALIST - P.T. - Maintenance Generalist - P.T. needed to assist in the maintenance of Helping Hand Center building locations, i.e. painting, minor repairs, snow removal, grass cutting, etc. Work Monday through Friday and occasionally weekends - 25 hrs. per week. Position is on-call for special events and emergencies. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.; have a reliable vehicle; possess a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record; and prior maintenance experience. Position pays $11 - $15 per hour depending on experience.
DIRECT SUPPORT PROVIDER (DSP - RESIDENTIAL) - F.T./P.T. - Seeking Direct Support Providers (DSP) to provide life skills training for adults with developmental disabilities living in the community. PT and FT openings: evening, overnight and weekend hours. This is a great opportunity for new graduates to gain experience in the social service field. QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER - F.T. - The employee under the Director of Residential Services, provide oversight and directly manage the CILA Supervisors as it relates to their overall job performance and in accordance with stated agency policies and procedures provides support for special projects and administrative support to the administrative staff of the agency.
Monitor all operations including health care practices, billing, coding, documentation, eligibility and internal controls systems/procedures. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to respond to crises and tight deadlines such as unscheduled reviews/audits and investigations conducted by government agencies. Develop, update and enforce workflows and agency practices in response to internal and external needs. Train staff in operational and quality improvement requirements and processes including best practices and regulatory, contractual and operational requirements.
Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in healthcare, public health, public administration, nonprofit management, organizational management or related field preferred; or equivalent years of experience. At least 3 to 5 years healthcare operations experience preferably in a non-profit/behavioral health setting. Knowledge of National Fire and Protection Agency Life Safety Codes.Knowledge of Administrative Code and Interpretive Guidelines for Sanitation Certification. RECREATIONAL TRAINER - P.T. - Helping Hand Center is seeking part-time Trainer for our Special Recreation Program. The Recreation Trainer provides recreational and support services for adults with developmental disabilities. The qualified candidate will be energetic, creative, and possess excellent communication skills. Requirements: Previous experience working with adults with disabilities, a High School diploma or GED, must be at least 23 years of age and possess a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record for Pace driver certification. Previous DSP preferred but will train.
TRUCK DRIVER - P.T. - Part-Time truck driver needed for social service agency workshop program located in LaGrange, IL. The truck driver will make deliveries using the agency vehicle, as needed. The hours for this position will be between 20-25 hours per week. Requirements: High school diploma, plus one year of work experience in the industry. Current Class C drivers license, and a good driving record.
PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR - F.T. - The Helping Hand Center is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor for its vocational training program for adults with disabilities at its facility in La Grange, Illinois. To be considered, the person we seek must be bilingual in English and Spanish, have at least 3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, and have a working knowledge of quality control procedures. The candidate must have prior experience using hand tools in various assembly processes, and be able to read and understand mechanical drawings. Successful completion of DSP, CPI and CPR training is expected. The ability to lift over 75 lbs. is required. FT position - Monday through Friday.
BUS DRIVER - F.T. - Helping Hand Center is seeking a bus driver to transport children and adults with disabilities in the areas surrounding Countryside, IL. This is a full-time position Monday through Friday - split shift AM/PM - with excellent benefits including health, dental, life/LTD insurance; paid holidays, vacation, sick and personal time. The qualified applicant must possess a CDL drivers license with school bus driver endorsement. Must possess a safe driving record to meet the requirements of Pace driver certification.
